U.S. Representative Chuck Fleischmann (TN-03) released the following statement after Amnesty International released a report labeling the State of Israel as an apartheid state.
"Amnesty International's recent report slandering Israel as an apartheid state is nothing more than lies about the security challenges Israel faces every day from radical terrorists, blatant misrepresentations about the history and founding of Israel and the ancient connections of the Jewish people to their ancestral homelands going back thousands of years, said Congressman Fleischmann. "I am heartened that there has been widespread bipartisan condemnation in Congress of Amnesty's distorted, hateful, and anti-Israel report. I promise to always stand with our strongest and only democratic ally in the Middle East, the State of Israel."
