Congresswoman Ashley Hinson (IA-01) released the following statement on legislation that will provide a path to raise the debt limit.
"Speaker Pelosi and President Biden have shown they cannot be trusted with your paycheck, and certainly not a blank check. I do not believe the United States should default on our debts, but the solution isn't to continue increasing the debt limit, it is stop overspending Iowans' hard-earned money." -Congresswoman Ashley Hinson
The legislation that will be considered by the House tonight provides a blank space for Democratic leaders to determine how much they want to raise the debt limit.
