Congresswoman Ashley Hinson (IA-01) released the following statement after voting in support of the Fiscal Year 2022 NDAA.

“The FY2022 National Defense Authorization Act will bolster our national security and ensure our troops have the resources necessary to defend the United States and our interests abroad. This legislation will make important investments in our efforts to counter the Chinese Communist Party and bans the U.S. Department of Defense from purchasing goods made using Uyghur slave labor in Xinjiang. It also includes a well-deserved pay raise for our servicemembers. I am also glad the red-flag like provisions included in an earlier version of the legislation were stripped out. The FY2022 NDAA is a bipartisan win for our national security and our troops and I am proud to support it.”-Congresswoman Ashley Hinson
