Congresswoman Ashley Hinson (IA-01) cosponsored a resolution calling for the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to rebid the 2022 Winter Olympic Games set to be hosted in Communist China. This resolution calls for the IOC to move the 2022 Winter Games to another country that recognizes and respects human rights.

“Communist China should not be allowed to host the Olympic Games in Beijing while committing genocide against Uyghurs in Xinjiang, repressing Hong Kongers, and engaging in other horrific human rights abuses—including disappearing athletes who speak against Party leaders. U.S. athletes deserve to compete in a country that respects human rights and where they can speak freely without fear of retaliation from a dangerous communist regime.” -Congresswoman Ashley Hinson
