Congresswoman Ashley Hinson (IA-01) released the following statement on the Biden Administration's ban on Russian oil imports and next steps the Administration should take to stabilize gas prices and protect U.S. national security.

“Cutting off Russian oil imports is the right decision. Not only did President Biden drag his feet on banning Russian oil, his White House actively lobbied against bipartisan Congressional efforts to do so. It is inexcusable that we have been spending millions of dollars daily to fund Putin's invasion of Ukraine.
"Now, the Biden Administration must stop sidelining domestic producers and re-establish U.S. energy dominance. It is dangerous for the U.S. to be reliant on foreign energy--and we don't have to be.
"Instead of asking foreign countries like Venezuela and Iran to produce more oil, the Administration should ramp up domestic production. Utilizing homegrown resources, including Iowa biofuels, will stabilize our energy supply, lower gas prices, and protect our national security."
