Congressman Cohen Announces $1.3 Million in Department of Health and Human Services Grants

Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) today announced two grants addressing mental health and substance abuse from the Department of Health and Human Services. Downtown Memphis Ministry Inc. will receive $349,721 for its Shelby Veterans Treatment Court Enhancement Project from the Center for Substances Abuse Treatment. Alliance Healthcare Services will receive $1 million for its Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic from the Center for Mental Health Services.

Congressman Cohen made the following statement:

“Investing in proven programs for helping those with mental health or substance abuse issues is a good use of Health and Human Services resources. These grants will improve and perhaps save lives.”
