The Separation of Church and State, originally proclaimed in the Establishment Clause back in the late 1800s, is settled law and should remain that way. Our country was founded to ensure that anyone could practice their own individual religion, NOT so an individual could force others to practice their religion.
Recently, the conservative majority on the Supreme Court has handed down victories to religious petitioners seeking a louder voice. Just as the U.S. becomes more religiously diverse, the wall between Church and State is showing signs of crumbling. As your Congresswoman, I will fight to uphold the separation of Church and State.
