Today, Congresswoman María Elvira Salazar (FL-27) condemned the Castro regime in a speech on the Floor of the United States House of Representatives and called on President to stand with the people of Cuba by approving uncensored internet access to the island - now!

The murderous Castro regime has embarked on a violent crackdown of massive pro-democracy protests that began on Sunday, July 11th demanding an end to the island's dictatorship. This crackdown has led to the arrest of over 500 protestors. Several thousand Cubans are being reported missing by their families.

The Castro regime has cut off internet access to hide how they brutalize the Cuban people. Congresswoman Salazar has called on President Biden to help the Cuban people by helping them circumvent the regime's censorship with existing U.S. technology.

Video of Salazar's remarks can be found HERE and a transcript of Congresswoman Salazar's floor speech can be found below:

"LIBERTAD! FREEDOM! ABAJO LA DICTADURA! DOWN WITH THE DICTATORSHIP.

"THESE ARE THE CALLS WE’RE HEARING FROM THE PEOPLE OF CUBA.

"THEY’VE TAKEN TO THE STREETS DEMANDING THE END OF THE DICTATORSHIP.

"WE SEE THE AMERICAN FLAG WAVING ON THE STREETS OF HAVANA BECAUSE THEY YEARN FOR WHAT WE HAVE: FREEDOM.

"I KNOW THIS WELL BECAUSE I AM THE DAUGHTER OF POLITICAL REFUGEES WHO FLED THE EVIL CASTRO REGIME.

"A REGIME THAT HAS TAKEN REPRESSION TO SCIENTIFIC LEVELS.

"IN FACT, THERE ARE ALREADY OVER 500 POLITICAL PRISONERS AND THOUSANDS MORE ARE IN JAIL.

"MADAM SPEAKER, WE ARE BEGGING PRESIDENT BIDEN TO STAND WITH THE CUBANS – NOW!

"THE CASTRO REGIME HAS CUT OFF THE INTERNET TO TORTURE THE CUBAN PEOPLE.

"AMERICA HAS THE TECHNOLOGY TO PROVIDE INTERNET – NOW IN CUBA!

"WE DO NOT NEED ANY STUDY GROUPS ABOUT REMITTANCES, WHAT WE NEED IS ACTION"

"WE NEED PRESIDENT BIDEN TO GRANT THE GREENLIGHT – NOW!

"SO THAT THE CUBANS CAN ORGANIZE AMONGST THEMSELVES AND STAY ON THE STREEETS

"SO THAT THEY DON’T FEEL ABANDONED.

"SO THAT THEY KNOW THE WHOLE WORLD IS WATCHING.

"AND SO THEY CAN DECIDE THEIR FUTURE AND THEIR OWN DESTINY.

"TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE

"THANK YOU AND I YIELD BACK."

Congresswoman Salazar represents Florida's beautiful 27th Congressional district which includes most of the City of Miami, its suburbs, and the beaches. She currently serves on the Committee on Foreign Affairs, including the Subcommittee on the Western Hemisphere.
