Today, Governor Greg Abbott highlighted the booming Texas economy and surging employment records during a press conference and roundtable discussion with local officials and business leaders in New Braunfels. Joined by State Senator Donna Campbell, Comal Iron & Metals CEO Marcie Rodriguez, and National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) Texas State Director Annie Spillman, Governor Abbott touted his pro-business economic policies and the work he continues to do to keep Texas the #1 destination for business relocation and job creation in America. NFIB Texas State Director Annie Spillman also announced the organization’s endorsement of Governor Abbott for re-election.

“Texas is the leading economy in America because of small business success stories like Comal Iron & Metals,” said Governor Abbott. “Local businesses like Comal Iron & Metals provide Texans good jobs in their local communities so families can buy a home and support their families. There is only one candidate in this race who is against business, voting to increase property taxes and advocating for radical energy policies that would destroy thousands of jobs–and that’s Beto O’Rourke. I’m running for re-election to secure the future of Texas and continue to build upon the work Texas has already done to make local businesses part of the Texas economic juggernaut.”

“Governor Abbott understands the problems that small businesses face,” said Comal Iron & Metals CEO Marcie Rodriguez. “We are grateful for people like Governor Abbott supporting small businesses, and we thank him for all that he does to support small business owners in Texas.”

“Governor Abbott understands how important small businesses are to the Texas economy, and he’s worked to secure an environment that allows local businesses to thrive,” said NFIB Texas State Director Annie Spillman. “Governor Abbott has been a strong, steady supporter of small business, which is why Texas small business owners gladly support him in this year’s race.”
