Congresswoman Ashley Hinson (IA-01) spoke at the Cedar Falls AMVETS Memorial Day event to honor those who have given their lives for our country. Hinson thanked the veterans in attendance, as well as their families, for their service and sacrifice.
| "It’s such an honor to be with all of you to pay tribute to those who have laid down their lives in sacrifice to our great nation and fighting for our freedoms," said Hinson during the ceremony. "I believe we live in the greatest country on Earth. Every single day we are blessed to wake up in America—where it is our right to pray as we wish, fly our great American flag as we wish, and speak freely. But the daily freedoms we enjoy aren’t free. They came at a cost of millions of American lives cut short. Our way of life only exists because of those who laid down their lives for us."
