Hinson Backs Legislation to Rein in Biden Administration Overreach, Reckless Spending

Iowa

ORGANIZATIONS IN THIS STORY

Congresswoman Ashley Hinson (IA-01) has cosponsored the Sunset Act, legislation that requires each "major rule" issued by an Administration to receive Congressional approval or be terminated after ten years. A major rule is a rule issued by an executive agency -- without the approval of Congress -- that has a major economic impact and will significantly increase costs or prices for consumers.

"Over the years, Congress has ceded the power of the people to the Executive Branch, allowing taxpayer dollars to be spent without accountability and the size of the federal bureaucracy to grow astronomically. The Biden Administration has taken advantage of this, frequently handing down expensive rules and regulations without Congressional approval, and they have shown no indication of stopping anytime soon. The Sunset Act will take back power from the Executive Branch and unelected bureaucrats and restore it to the American people.” - Congresswoman Ashley Hinson
