Yesterday, Congresswoman Ashley Hinson (IA-01) joined U.S. Secretary of Veterans Affairs Denis McDonough at the National Disabled Veterans Golf Clinic in Riverside, Iowa. The two met with veterans who are participating in this innovative program and saw the benefits of the program firsthand. This visit builds on Hinson's bipartisan work to improve care for veterans in Iowa and across the country.

"It was inspiring to meet veterans who have benefitted both physically and emotionally from the adaptive sports programs at the National Disabled Veterans Golf Clinic. Some veterans believed their disabilities would prevent them from ever playing sports again, but this clinic gives them the opportunity to overcome those expectations alongside their fellow veterans," said Congresswoman Ashley Hinson. "I sincerely appreciate Secretary McDonough for coming to Iowa and for his willingness to work across the aisle on behalf of our nation's veterans. Caring for America's veterans should always transcend politics, and always will for me."
