WASHINGTON–U.S. Senator Chris Murphy (D-Conn.), a member of the U.S. Senate Appropriations Committee, on Thursday released the following statement after the U.S. Senate passed the Continuing Resolution to fund the government until December 16:

“It’s our job to make sure the federal government stays open and is able to serve the American people. Today’s continuing resolution includes LIHEAP funding that will help thousands of people in Connecticut afford to keep their homes warm as temperatures begin to drop. It also provides billions in disaster recovery aid to communities across America and reaffirms our commitment to support the people of Ukraine as they defend their country. But these stopgap measures only get us so far, and we need to pass a real budget,” said Murphy.
