Ohio

Rep. Bill Johnson (R-Marietta) led a letter to President Biden and Department of Defense (DoD) Secretary Lloyd Austin regarding the “wokeness” being promoted, prioritized, and displayed in our nation’s military:

“As stated in the House-passed FY23 NDAA, we firmly believe that lethality must be the centerpiece of our national defense strategy, not social experimentation. Any activities unrelated to enhancing lethality serve as potentially dangerous distractions from the DoD’s mission,” wrote Rep. Bill Johnson.

“As you know, our men and women in uniform swear an oath to serve and defend our great nation and are prohibited from publicly expressing partisan political views. To subject our warriors to political indoctrination and social reengineering is inappropriate and divisive,” Johnson continued.

Joining Rep. Bill Johnson on the letter are Representatives Dan Crenshaw (TX-02), Pat Fallon (TX-04), Mike Bost (IL-12), Michael Waltz (FL-06), Jack Bergman (MI-01), and Mark Green (TN-07).
