From: AUGUST 30, 2022 post

Today, as the first campaign finance reports of the general election will be filed, Wes Moore’s campaign for Maryland Governor announced that since winning the Democratic primary in July, the campaign has seen a staggering surge in grassroots support across Maryland.  Between the July 19 primary and Aug. 23 fundraising deadline, the campaign announced it has raised $1.7 million, with 79 percent of contributions being $100 or less, and the clear majority of the money coming from Marylanders.

“I am so humbled by the incredible number of grassroots supporters we have seen join our team to help us in our mission to build up our economy, make our communities safer, and strengthen our public schools,” said Wes Moore.

Grassroots energy has been a key marker of the Moore-Miller campaign, which since launching in June 2021 has received contributions from over 25,000 donors.

“This campaign has continued to show an incredible amount of momentum after a historic primary win in July. It’s clear that Wes has built a coalition that can power him to victory in November, with the investment of supporters who see the opportunity we have to make Maryland a place where we leave no one behind,” said Campaign Manager Ned Miller. “Wes’ vision has resonated with so many Marylanders, and because of that he has seen an outpouring of support from our communities. Folks from all walks of life are energized to join Wes in his mission to bring much-needed change to the people of Maryland.”

The campaign has raised over $10.5 million in total, and enters the heat of the campaign season well positioned to run an aggressive voter outreach program that communicates Wes’ vision to voters all across Maryland.

Full campaign finance reports will be filed with the Maryland State Board of Elections before midnight today.

.@iamwesmoore: The numbers are in: thanks to you, our grassroots momentum has surged. We’ve nearly tripled our fundraising pace!

Our vision continues to resonate across the state. Together, we can win and  deliver the leadership Maryland families urgently need.
