Congresswoman Betty McCollum (MN-04) released the following statement today after attending the National Parks Conservation Association’s 20th Anniversary National Parks Champions Luncheon honoring NPCA Board Emeritus and Event Founder Bill Walter:
“Bill Walter has long been a champion of our national parks, and is deserving of this recognition by the NPCA,” McCollum said. “Bill’s work was instrumental in protecting Voyageurs National Park, and I was proud to join him in 2013 on a visit to this northern Minnesota rustic oasis. Bill understands the indescribable value of spending time in Minnesota’s great outdoors. His passion and commitment to protecting our public lands will help ensure they are available for future generations to enjoy. I’m honored to call Bill a friend, and congratulate him wholeheartedly on this achievement!”
