Florida First Lady Casey DeSantis today announced 1.1 million Mamas for DeSantis have been mobilized to help re-elect Governor Ron DeSantis at a campaign event in Pasco County. In just four months, Mamas for DeSantis has made tangible outreach to Republican, Democrat, and Independent mamas, and new Florida mamas.

In June, the First Lady announced Mamas for DeSantis and set the goal of signing up one million mamas across the state of Florida. With today’s announcement, Mamas for DeSantis is the largest parent-led movement in Florida history.

Governor Ron DeSantis said:

“The First Lady has worked hard and mobilized 1.1 million moms to help Keep Florida Free on November 8th. Florida is the best place in the nation to raise a family. We stand up for children by keeping schools open, protecting our communities, preventing woke indoctrination of our kids, and protecting parents’ rights. We are providing record tax relief for families – from diapers and household items to pet food. As Governor, we will continue to deliver for Florida families.”

First Lady Casey DeSantis said:

“I am proud to announce that we have secured more than one million mamas across the state of Florida who are voting to re-elect Governor Ron DeSantis, the most pro-parent Governor in the country. As a father of three children, ages 5, 4, and 2, the Governor has had mamas’ backs for the past four years and now it’s time for us to have his back. We are 1.1 million mamas on a mission to re-elect Governor Ron DeSantis and deliver a huge victory for freedom on November 8th.”

This initiative directly engages with Florida mamas, grandmamas, abuelas, nanas, and more through events, door-to-door engagement, emails, texts, phone calls, and paid media. Click here to read about the launch of Mamas for DeSantis. Click here to read about a recent Mamas for DeSantis event.

In August, Governor Ron DeSantis’ re-election campaign announced the DeSantis Playbook, a first-of-its-kind resource for Floridians that details the Governor’s Freedom Agenda that has made Florida a national leader for parental rights, law and order, environmental protection, and fiscally-sound economic policies. Since then, mamas have organized Playbook Club meetings of their own, sharing with their communities about how the Governor has made a positive impact in their lives. BACKGROUND:

In May, the First Lady returned to the campaign trail after doctors declared her cancer-free. In her official capacity as Florida’s First Lady, First Lady Casey DeSantis has launched initiatives she is passionate about, including:

  • Hope Florida – A Pathway to Prosperity: Family-centered assistance reaching more than 50,000 Floridians, including single moms, those aging out of foster care, among others. The program helps achieve economic sufficiency through local, community-based partners, including the private sector, faith-based institutions, and nonprofit organizations.
  • Resiliency Florida Initiative: The first state in the nation to rethink and reframe the way mental health is taught in schools. Through work with the Florida Department of Education, Resiliency Florida rejects teaching to a disorder, but rather focuses on teaching students core skills like problem solving, critical thinking, coping, compassion and grit so that they may learn how to navigate and persevere through life’s inevitable challenges. Resiliency Florida also prioritizes volunteerism and physical activity as it pertains to their mental well-being. The initiative partnered with nearly every professional sports team in Florida and prominent athletes and coaches like Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Joey Logano, Bryant McFadden, Lou Holtz, Urban Meyer, David Beckham, Corey Simon, among others who share their stories of perseverance and resilience and serve as an example of overcoming challenges. The initiative will eventually provide free curriculum to teachers and school districts across Florida.
  • The Facts. Your Future.: A campaign designed to educate young Floridians about the life-altering effects of drug use and equip students with tools they need to make decisions about their health and future.
First Lady Casey DeSantis is the wife of Florida’s 46th Governor, Ron DeSantis. Governor and First Lady DeSantis are loving parents to daughter, Madison (5 years old), son, Mason (4 years old) and daughter, Mamie (2 years old). The DeSantis Family is the first family to have a baby born in the Governor’s Mansion in more than 50 years.

Declared cancer-free by doctors in February 2022, First Lady DeSantis travels the state visiting with cancer patients to draw attention to the importance of early screening and to provide support and hope to families affected by cancer. First Lady DeSantis has become a champion for fighting cancer in the state of Florida, helping to secure $100 million in recurring funding for cancer research and care in the Fiscal Year 2022-2023 Budget. In honor of her work devoted to this issue, the Florida Legislature recently renamed the Florida Consortium of National Institute Centers Program the “Casey DeSantis Cancer Research Program.” The First Lady appeared in a tv and digital ad detailing how the Governor fought for her during her battle with breast cancer.
