Today, Congresswoman Lisa McClain (R-MI) led her colleagues in demanding answers from President Biden on his reasoning behind two of the latest COVID-19 controversies: extending the Public Health Emergency and adding the COVID-19 vaccine to the childhood immunization schedule.
“The emergency powers from the COVID-19 pandemic are nothing more than a political tool for the Democrats at this point,” said Rep. Lisa McClain. “They know that they can’t get their progressive agenda passed through Congress, so instead they use COVID as an excuse to keep the Public Health Emergency in place. Now, they are taking it a step further and putting our children at risk by adding the COVID-19 vaccine to the childhood immunization schedule even though the vast majority of children who contract COVID-19 are not at risk of severe infection. This is nothing more than political theater, and it is disgusting that this Administration is willing to go this far.”
Congresswoman McClain was joined in her efforts by RSC Chairman Jim Banks, Rep. Rick Crawford (R-AR), Rep. Debbie Lesko (R-AZ), Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO), Rep. Scott Franklin (R-FL), Rep. Bill Posey (R-FL), Rep. Mary Miller (R-IL), Rep. Andy Harris (R-MD), Rep. Michael Guest (R-MS), Rep. Chris Jacobs (R-NY), Rep. Joseph Sempolinski (R-NY), Rep. Warren Davidson (R-OH), Rep. Jeff Duncan (R-SC), Rep. Ralph Norman (R-SC), Rep. William Timmons (R-SC), Rep. Diana Harshbarger (R-TN), Rep. Michael Cloud (R-TX), Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX).
