Congresswoman Ashley Hinson (IA-01) spoke at the ribbon cutting for the new BAE Systems facility in Cedar Rapids. Excerpts from Hinson's remarks can be found below.
| "It is so great to be here today to celebrate this incredible investment in Cedar Rapids and new chapter for BAE Systems. The state of the art technology and equipment at this facility will empower workers to continue building some of the most advanced technology around the globe – enhancing our military capabilities, protecting our critical infrastructure, and supporting U.S. intel efforts. "Thanks to our incredible Governor, Kim Reynolds, Iowa is a great place to do business. And because of her common sense leadership, we are seeing increased investments in our state and our people. "At the federal level, I’ll continue to work on policies that make it easier for workers and manufacturers, not harder. We need to curb spending to reduce inflation, become energy independent to lower costs across our supply chain, and ensure we are incentivizing domestic manufacturing — not sending jobs offshore. "Investing in the future of Iowa and in Iowans — that’s what today is all about, and that is our shared commitment and priority." |
