From June 23, 2022 post.

On the 50th anniversary of Title IX, U.S. Senator Joni Ernst (R-Iowa) is pushing back against the Left’s attempts to sideline women and girls. Today, President Biden’s Department of Education proposed a new interpretation of Title IX to include gender identity.

Ernst supports an effort called the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act to ensure that Title IX provisions relating to athletics treat sex as based solely on a person's reproductive biology and genetics at birth. This bill makes it a violation of federal law for a recipient of federal funds who operates, sponsors, or facilitates athletic programs or activities to permit a person whose sex is male to participate in an athletic program or activity that is designated for women or girls.

Last year, Ernst met with female athletes to discuss the physical and mental challenges associated with competing against biological males.
