Palatine, IL – Chris Dargis, candidate for Congress in the 8th District, says Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi is failing working families with his lack of real solutions to lower gas prices and reduce inflation.

“Spouting left-wing talking points about subsidies and oil company profits is not a solution to the rising gas prices,” Dargis said. “We need to restart work on the Keystone Pipeline XL, expedite drilling permits on federal land, and rollback onerous regulations on oil producers. In the long-term, we need to build more refineries and focus on making our country truly energy independent.”

President Biden along with allies such as Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi are hoping to accomplish the President’s campaign promise to, “to end fossil fuel.” High gas prices are just part of the plan, and the plan is working.

The average gas price on June 1st in Illinois was $5.13 per gallon.

“Where we are headed right now is not sustainable,” Dargis said. “Working families cannot afford these high gas prices. We are a long way from ending our reliance on motor fuel and it is imperative we implement policies that will open up new drilling which will increase our oil supply and allow the US to become energy independent. We need solutions and unfortunately all Congressman Krishnamoorthi has to offer is platitudes.”

Chris Dargis is running as a Republican in the 8th Congressional District. The Primary Election is June 28, 2022. For information on Chris Dargis, visit: https://www.votedargis.com/.
